Getting started

Research is the cornerstone of effective account prioritization, planning, prospecting, and outreach, but it can take hours to dig up actionable information.

Sales reps can try to speed up the process by prompting and praying with a siloed AI copilot that’s limited to publicly available info. Or they can let an AI agent hunt down every insight—across both the public web and internal data sources—and deliver it to them right where they work, right when they need it.

In this playbook, we’ll show you how to automate custom research for every account, surface top contacts, and take action right away—no tab hopping or prompt-and-wait workflows necessary.

What you'll need

Common Room

Step 1: Configure RoomieAI™ Capture

Let’s say we’re a RevOps leader or sales manager.

We want to automatically surface granular account insights for reps, all tailored to our organization’s priorities for account prioritization and account planning.

First we’d tell our AI agent, RoomieAI Capture, to focus on orgs that match our specific fit and behavioral criteria. This can be as broad or as narrow as we’d like.

Data and signal capture agent

Then we’d tell it which topics we want it to research, how it should go about it, and what we want the output to look like. RoomieAI Capture will fill in dynamic variables in real time for every account that matches our criteria.

We can choose from multiple default research topics—including an account summary that comes out of the box for every Common Room customer—or create our own.

Once the prompt is enabled, our AI agent will work 24/7 to hunt down every relevant data point and signal across the public web and our own first-, second-, and third-party data sources. It will then summarize this research and make it easily accessible to reps.

Step 2: Explore account research

Now let’s say we’re an SDR or AE.

We can click into any org in Common Room and get an overview of the account that shows why it’s a good fit, key contacts we should be aware of, engagement strategy recommendations, and best next steps.

We’ll also see top contacts for outreach based on our signal-based scoring model.

AI-powered lead and account scoring

We can access all research findings by clicking on the RoomieAI™ research tab. From here we can view a brief summary of every research topic or click into findings for a deeper dive.

All this work is done automatically for us for every account that matches our criteria—no searching or prompting required.

And if we want to dig deeper into a different topic, we can always supplement research on the fly using Ask RoomieAI at the top of the page.

Ask RoomieAI comes complete with a series of existing prompts related to an account’s customers, competitors, user sentiment, and much more. Or we can create our own custom prompt to quickly surface the relevant information we care about.

Step 3: Action on account research

We can take action on this intelligence from the same UI, like adding top contacts highlighted by our AI agent to a personalized outbound sequence, Salesforce campaign, or HubSpot workflow.

We can also quickly pull up a list of all known contacts at the account for multithreading.

We can even add and enrich new contacts from the account based on our fit and behavioral criteria via Prospector.

Prospecting automation

If we don’t feel like crafting a message ourselves, we can let another AI agent, RoomieAI Activate, do it for us.

This agent will draft a highly personalized, highly relevant message for every contact at an account in real time using retrieval augmented generation techniques, including by pulling from RoomieAI Capture’s research.

Our message might look something like this:
