Overview

Common Room’s integration with inSided allows you to connect customer support and community data. We create a profile for everyone who interacts with you on Intercom and an Activity for each question, conversation, idea, and article.

Setup

Currently, this integration has to be configured by the Common Room team. We'll work directly with you to setup the integration quickly so you can get started.

  1. Open Common Room.
  2. Navigate to Settings → Signals.
  3. Select inSided and click get set up.

Requirements

The inSided integration with Common Room is available on the Team and Enterprise plan.

During the integration setup process, we’ll ask you to send us a client ID and client secret from your inSided instance. You’ll need permission to create those. Our integration leverages inSided’s official API and adheres to its terms of service.

Technical details

Contacts and Activity

When you connect an inSided forum to Common Room, we’ll import all of the users who have accounts in the forum. Activities are created for every post (question, conversation, article, product update, or idea) and reply.

Import history and sync frequency

Once you configure your inSided integration, Common Room will import its entire Contact list and Activity history. This may take some time depending on the size and age of your forum.

Going forward, Common Room will import new Contacts and Activity from inSided approximately every 15 minutes.
