Organization tags

Organization tags allow you to filter for organizations with certain attributes, along with the Contacts who work at those organizations. Organization tags can be used to filter on the Contacts, Activity, and Organizations pages.

There is currently one default tag called Ideal Customer Profile that does not have pre-set criteria but can be customized by your team and automatically applied to Contacts. To view the complete list of the custom tags used within your Common Room, go to App settings.

Create an organization tag

Organization tags can be created in a variety of ways. To create an organization tag from the Organizations page:

  1. Go to the Organizations page.
  2. Find the organizations you'd like to apply the tag to.
  3. Check the box to select each organization you want to tag.
  4. Click the Tag button which appears at the bottom of your screen. This opens a dropdown menu with different tag options.
  5. Start typing the name of the tag you would like to create, and then click New tag. This will create a new tag and apply it to the selected organizations.
  6. Once the tag is successfully created and applied to the organizations, you’ll see a confirmation toast at the bottom of the page.

To create an organization tag from an organization profile:

  1. Open an organization profile.
  2. Click Add next to the organization's existing tags.
  3. Start typing the name of the tag you would like to create, and then click New tag. This will create a new tag and apply it to the organization whose profile you are in.
  4. Once the tag is successfully created and applied to the organization, you’ll see a confirmation toast at the bottom of the page.

To create an organization tag from the App settings page:

  1. Go to the Settings page.
  2. Open Tags in the left menu.
  3. Click on the + button. This opens up a modal in which you can create a new tag.
  4. Enter the name of your tag and a useful description of the tag.
  5. Click Create tag to create the tag.

Apply an organization tag

To apply an organization tag from the Organizations page:

  1. Go to the Organizations page.
  2. Find the organizations you'd like to apply the tag to.
  3. Check the box to select each organization you want to tag.
  4. Click the Tag button which appears at the bottom of your screen. This opens a dropdown menu with different tag options.
  5. Scroll within the dropdown or type in the search box to find the tag you would like to apply.
  6. Click on the tag to apply it to the selected organizations.
  7. Once the tag is successfully applied to the organizations, you’ll see a confirmation toast at the bottom of the page.

To apply an organization tag from an organization profile:

  1. Open an organization profile.
  2. Click Add next to the organization's existing tags.
  3. Scroll within the dropdown or type in the search box to find the tag you would like to apply.
  4. Click on the tag to apply it.
  5. Once the tag is successfully applied to the organization, you’ll see a confirmation toast at the bottom of the page.

You can remove an organization tag from within an organization profile by clicking the x on the tag.

View applied organization tags

In addition to appearing on the organization profile, organization tags also appear on the profiles of Contacts based on the organization they work at. When viewing a Contact's profile or activity, organization tags associated with the organization that the Contact works at will be identified by an icon depicting two buildings. Organization tags cannot be applied or removed from these pages.

Edit an organization tag

  1. Go to the Settings page.
  2. Open Tags in the left menu.
  3. Navigate to the Organizations tab, which displays all of your existing organization tags along with their usage in the system.
  4. Check the box next to the tag you’d like to edit.
  5. Click Edit at the top right of the screen.
  6. Edit the name and/or description. Edits made here will be reflected anywhere the tag has been used.
  7. Click Save changes.

Delete an organization tag

  1. Go to the Settings page.
  2. Open Tags in the left menu.
  3. Navigate to the Organizations tab, which displays all of your existing organization tags along with their usage in the system.
  4. Check the box next to the tag you’d like to delete. You can select multiple tags at once for deletion.
  5. Click Delete at the top right of the screen. Deleted tags will be removed from all organizations.
  6. Click Delete tag.
